I am passionate about helping couples reconnect to their love for each other.

What could be more wonderful than helping couples discover that their love is stronger than their fears? Love wins! We just need help sometimes. I love what I get to do, and I feel very privileged to work with people who place so much trust in me and this process.

My clinical training was in hospital chaplaincy. There I accompanied families through acute crises and chronic illnesses. I often worked with couples as they grieved losses from death or illness.  Yet until recently the tools didn't exist to help couples recover from the deep hurt they caused each other.  Over the last 20 years Les Greenberg, Sue Johnson, and others have done the clinical research to discover what works for couples in crises.  These discoveries form the basis of EFT for couples.

I have completed the Externship training in Emotion Focused Therapy for couples, the Advanced Level called Core Skills, and supervision. I’ve also been trained in using EFT with families. I have a regular program of continuing education and training as well as ongoing clinical supervision. I am an active participant in the Portland EFT community of therapists, and have assisted in training new therapists in EFT, both in Portland and regionally.

I have a PhD in theology from Emory University and am a Fulbright Scholar, doing my doctoral research at Heidelberg University, Germany; MDiv and a ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary.  And I graduated from Whitworth University with a BA in English.

My home town is Bend, OR.
